The Great Outdoors

PHOTO CONTEST WINNER AND FINALISTS ANNOUNCED!

In our Fall 2022 issue, we initiated our Outdoor Recreation Guide, entitled “Outdoor Rec 413.”

To coincide with that exciting new endeavor, the theme of this year’s photo contest was “The Great Outdoors.” We asked readers to submit photos of the outdoor activities or recreational sports that they enjoy doing in the Berkshires.

We received an impressive group of entries—and Anastasia and I are genuinely grateful that we did not have to choose this year’s finalists ourselves! Thank you to Pamela Tatge, Executive and Artistic Director of Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, and Nathaniel Silver, Director of Hancock Shaker Village, for assisting us in the task.

Congratulations to this year’s winning entry: “Lone Fishermen” by Beth Carroll.

Beth will receive dinner for two at Gateways Inn Dine + Drink at 51 Walker Street in Lenox (gatewaysinn.com). We thank the owner of the restaurant, Mill Town Capital, for donating this year’s winning prize.

I would also like to congratulate the other finalists—Coley Cary, Erin Duffey, and Betty Kang—and thank all of the participants (listed, at left).

The contest entry fees raised $200, which will be donated again this year to the Brien Center in Pittsfield (briencenter.org), which is celebrating its 100+ years. briencenter.org/100plus
